Colonial Bengal tour, captivating journey after an early breakfast to explore the rich cultural tapestry of West Bengal. After an early breakfast, head to Bansberia, located 55 km away, to explore two remarkable examples of Bengal’s terracotta temple architecture: the Ananta Basudeva Temple and the Hanseshwari Temple, situated side by side. Built in 1679 by Raja Rameswar Dutta, the octagonal Ananta Basudeva Temple features intricate terracotta sculptures depicting scenes from the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Krishnalila on its walls..

From Bansberia, drive 6.5 km to Hooghly to visit the Imambara, built in 1861 by Haji Mohd. Mohsin. This magnificent prayer hall for Shia Muslims is a stunning example of Islamic architecture.

Chinsurah was once a Dutch colony. Visit Octagonal Dutch Church, Residence of Dutch General which is now Mohsin College, Armenian Church, Chinsurah Court.

Chandernagore was a French Colony and still carry the touch of the bygone days in the Museum, Institute De Chandernagore; St. Joseph Convent, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Hotel de Paris (Presently City Civil Court), and The Strand.

A key remnant of the Danish settlement is Serampore College, originally founded as Carey’s College by Sir William Carey in 1819.
